Smiling faces, eager hearts
Trusting souls
Increased smarts
Every morning they appear
Ready to listen, ready to hear
What it is I’ve got to say
They know that now’s no time to play
Pencils down, pencils up
All their thoughts to say what’s up
Telling me what’s wrong and right
Trying their best with all their might
This is my life, my mission, my plight
To shape their minds, and fight the good fight
To teach is to love - M. Cole
You know what, I love this attempt at rhyming poetry. I often try poetry with rhyme, but I can never pull it off.I'd love to see you revisit this poem.
ReplyDeleteI wondered about the repetion of the word ready in "ready to listen, ready to hear." Is there another word you could use rather than repeating? Also, have you considered reworking the ending? Your poems leaves me wanting a little bit more, a wrap up of sorts.. something for you to think about.
